At level A1-2 The course is intended for those who have some basic knowledge of Icelandic. We continue to work with aspects related to the individual’s daily life and work to increase the student’s vocabulary. The emphasis is on students being able to make themselves understood in shops, bakeries, banks, post offices and restaurants and participating in simple conversations about everyday topics, such as the weather and hobbies. As before, the emphasis is on introducing students to the structure of the language through listening, reading, writing, storytelling and conversations. Continue to train Icelandic sounds and pronunciation. A variety of teaching methods are used in language teaching. We strive to design the tasks in such a way that they test the student’s skills in real situations. See the curriculum.

Áfanginn er ætlaður þeim sem hafa nokkra undirstöðu í íslensku. Haldið er áfram að vinna með þá þætti sem tengjast daglegu lífi og starfi einstaklingsins til að auka orðaforða nemanda. Lögð er áhersla á að nemendur geti gert sig skiljanlega í verslun, bakaríi, banka, pósthúsi og veitingahúsi og tekið þátt í einföldum samræðum um dagleg málefni, svo sem veður og áhugamál. Eins og áður er lögð áhersla á að kynna nemendum uppbyggingu tungumálsins með hlustun, lestri, ritun, frásögn og samræðum. Haldið áfram að þjálfa íslensk hljóð og framburð. Fjölbreyttum kennsluaðferðum í tungumálakennslu beitt. Leitast er við að gera verkefnin þannig úr garði að þau reyni á hæfni nemandans við raunverulegar aðstæður.
